Kevin Mooney is the son of Joe Mooney and the late Nina Troutman Mooney. After graduation from Bullitt Central High School, he attended from the University of Louisville School of Business and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1986. While attending U of L, he worked in the Bullitt County Clerks office for 3 years under Nina Mooney, his mother.
He enjoyed the job and learned many valuable lessons about how an office should run. Kevin's mother worked in the Bullitt County Clerks office for 40 years serving as clerk from 1974 to 1997.
Kevin married Melissa LaClair on July 28, 1989. They have two children, Hannah and Lilly.
